To search for a phrase, i.e. a number of words in a specific sequence, enclose the text in double quotation marks, for example “low-level waste”. In full text search, words containing hyphens must also be written as a phrase, for example "TR-01-01".
Combination searchAND-operator may be used to search the records that contain all the keywords, for example canister AND bentonite. The OR-operator will give a result where any of the words or all the words are included , for example bentonite OR clay. AND and OR can be combined, for example barrier AND (bentonite OR clay).
WildcardsYou can search for different spellings by replacing one or more characters in a search term with a question mark. For example, a search for lund ?? ist gives results for Lundkvist, Lundquist and Lundqvist. The search phrase wom?n retrieves both woman and women , characteri?ation will find both British and American spellings etc.
Truncation
Keywords can be truncated at the end or in the beginning with an asterisk (*). The search will include all words that begin or end with the specified word (or letters). It is also possible to truncate in the middle of a word where the asterisk replaces an unspecified number (including zero) of characters: for example, hydro*ogy will match hydrology, hydrogeology, hydrometeorology, Lars*on will find both Larson and Larsson etc.
Advanced search features (AND, OR, ?, *) can only be used in the field “Full text search”.
Keywords (including names) may be written in upper or lower case letters. However, AND and OR must be written in upper case letters.
